When I saw the Excess 11 for the first time, I was at the Annapolis Boat Show in 2019. I was immediately awestruck. It may have had something to do with Wiley Sharp standing at the stern as the spokesperson. The first thing I noticed was the fun burnt orange color of the upholstery on the showroom model. Being from Texas, it is a color that I have come to love. The main cabin is spacious and well-planned and doesn't make you feel trapped. The two helm stations at the stern are designed to make you feel like you are sailing even though you are on a catamaran. The working space and social space is no longer segregated. Apparently, the market loves it. It was named the 2021 Overall Boat of the Year by Cruising World magazine.
